Daniel 4:17
Thomson 1808
The sentence is by the decree of a watcher; and the decree is a request of holy ones, that the living may know that there is a sovereign Lord of the kingdom of men and that He can give it to whom He will, and set over it that which is disesteemed by men.
Brenton 1851
The matter is by the decree of the watcher, and the demand is a word of the holy ones; that the living may know that the Lord is most high over the kingdom of men, and he will give it to whomsoever he shall please, and will set up over it that which is set at nought of men.
