Thereupon the king gave orders and they committed him to the guardhouse and gave him a loaf of bread a day from the bake-house until all the bread in the city was spent. So Jeremias remained in the court of the prison.

Καὶ ἔσονται ἰσχυρότεροι αὐτοῦ ἐπʼ αὐτοὺς, καὶ ὁ ἄρχων αὐτοῦ ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται· καὶ συνάξω αὐτοὺς, καὶ ἀποστρέψουσι πρὸς μέ· ὅτι τίς ἐστιν οὗτος ὃς ἔδωκε τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ, ἀποστρέψαι πρὸς μέ; φησὶ Κύριος·
