Thomsontherefore when you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, you shall offer it in an acceptable manner.
BrentonAnd if ye will sacrifice a peace-offering to the Lord, ye shall offer it acceptable from yourselves.
GreekΚαὶ ἐὰν θύσητε θυσίαν σωτηρίου τῷ Κυρίῳ, δεκτὴν ὑμῶν θύσετε.

ThomsonOn the day you offer such a sacrifice it shall be eaten; or on the next day; and if any of it be left till the third day, it shall be burned with fire.
BrentonIn what day soever ye shall sacrifice it, it shall be eaten; and on the following day, and if any of it should be left till the third day, it shall be thoroughly burnt with fire.
Greekᾟ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ θύσετε, βρωθήσεται, καὶ τῇ αὔριον· καὶ ἐὰν καταλειφθῇ ἕως ἡμέρας τρίτης, ἐν πυρὶ κατακαυθήσεται.

ThomsonAnd if it be eaten on the third day, it is as if it had not been offered. It will not be accepted.
BrentonAnd if it should be at all eaten on the third day, it is unfit for sacrifice: it shall not be accepted.

ThomsonHe who eateth it will contract guilt, because he hath profaned the holy things of the Lord. The persons therefore who eat it shall be cut off from among their people.
BrentonAnd he that eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy things of the Lord; and the souls that eat it shall be destroyed from among their people.
GreekὉ δὲ ἔσθων αὐτὸ, ἁμαρτίαν λήψεται, ὅτι τὰ ἅγια Κυρίου ἐβεβήλωσε· καὶ ἐξολοθρευθήσονται αἱ ψυχαὶ αἱ ἔσθουσαι ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτῶν.

ThomsonAnd when you gather in the harvest of your land, you shall not make a complete ingathering of the harvest of your field, nor gather up the gleanings of thy harvest;
BrentonAnd when ye reap the harvest of your land, ye shall not complete the reaping of your field with exactness, and thou shalt not gather that which falls from thy reaping.

Thomsonnor shalt thou go over thy vineyard a second time, nor gather the straggling clusters of thy vineyard. Thou shalt leave them for the poor, and for the stranger. I am the Lord your God;
BrentonAnd thou shalt not go over the gathering of thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the remaining grapes of thy vineyard: thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
Greekκαὶ τὸν ἀμπελῶνά σου οὐκ ἐπανατρυγήσεις, οὐδὲ τὰς ῥῶγας τοῦ ἀμπελῶνός σου συλλέξεις· τῷ πτωχῷ καὶ τῷ προσηλύτῳ καταλείψεις αὐτά. ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν.

Thomsonyou shall not steal; you shall not lie; nor shall anyone accuse his brother for trifles,
BrentonYe shall not steal, ye shall not lie, neither shall one bear false witness as an informer against his neighbour.
GreekΟὐ κλέψετε, οὐ ψεύσεσθε, οὐδὲ συκοφαντήσει ἕκαστος τὸν πλησίον.

Thomsonyou shall not swear by My name to a falsehood; nor profane the holy name of your God.
BrentonAnd ye shall not swear unjustly by my name, and ye shall not profane the holy name of your God: I am the Lord your God.
GreekΚαὶ οὐκ ὀμεῖσθε τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπʼ ἀδίκῳ, καὶ οὐ βεβηλώσετε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν· ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν.

ThomsonI am the Lord your God, thou shalt not injure thy neighbour, nor commit rapine; nor shall the wages of a hireling remain with thee till the morning.
BrentonThou shalt not injure thy neighbour, neither do thou rob him, neither shall the wages of thy hireling remain with thee until the morning.
GreekΟὐκ ἀδικήσεις τὸν πλησίον, καὶ οὐχ ἁρπᾷ· καὶ οὐ μὴ κοιμηθήσεται ὁ μισθὸς τοῦ μισθωτοῦ σου παρὰ σοὶ ἕως πρωΐ.

ThomsonThou shalt not curse the deaf, nor lay a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear the Lord thy God.
BrentonThou shalt not revile the deaf, neither shalt thou put a stumbling-block in the way of the blind; and thou shalt fear the Lord thy God: I am the Lord your God.
GreekΟὐ κακῶς ἐρεῖς κωφόν, καὶ ἀπέναντι τυφλοῦ οὐ προσθήσεις σκάνδαλον· καὶ φοβηθήσῃ Κύριον τὸν Θεόν σου· ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν.

ThomsonI am the Lord your God; you shall not do an unjust thing in the execution of justice: thou shalt not respect the face of the poor, nor revere the face of the mighty. With righteousness thou shalt judge thy neighbour.
BrentonThou shalt not act unjustly in judgment: thou shalt not accept the person of the poor, nor admire the person of the mighty; with justice shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
GreekΟὐ ποιήσετε ἄδικον ἐν κρίσει· οὐ λήψῃ πρόσωπον πτωχοῦ, οὐδὲ μὴ θαυμάσῃς πρόσωπον δυνάστου· ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ κρίνεις τὸν πλησίον σου.

ThomsonThou shalt not go about with deceit among thy nation, nor set thyself against the blood of thy neighbour.
BrentonThou shalt not walk deceitfully among thy people; thou shalt not rise up against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord your God.
GreekΟὐ πορεύσῃ δόλῳ ἐν τῷ ἔθνει σου· οὐκ ἐπιστήσῃ ἐφʼ αἷμα τοῦ πλησίον σου· ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν.

ThomsonI am the Lord your God; thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart. With rebuke thou shalt correct thy neighbour, and not contract guilt on his account;
BrentonThou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, so thou shalt not bear sin on his account.
GreekΟὐ μισήσεις τὸν ἀδελφόν σου τῇ διανοίᾳ σου· ἐλεγμῷ ἐλέγξεις τὸν πλησίον σου, καὶ οὐ λήψῃ διʼ αὐτὸν ἁμαρτίαν.

Thomsonbut let not thy hand take vengeance. Thou shalt not bear a grudge against the children of thy people; but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. I am the Lord;
BrentonAnd thy hand shall not avenge thee; and thou shalt not be angry with the children of thy people; and thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself; I am the Lord.
GreekΚαὶ οὐκ ἐκδικᾶταί σου ἡ χείρ· καὶ οὐ μηνιεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ λαοῦ σου· καὶ ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν· ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος.

Thomsonyou shall keep My law. Thou shalt not let the cattle gender with one of another kind, nor plant thy vineyard with different sorts of seed; nor put on unscoured, a woven garment made of flax and wool.
BrentonYe shall observe my law: thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with one of a different kind, and thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with diverse seed; and thou shalt not put upon thyself a mingled garment woven of two materials.
GreekΤὸν νόμον μου φυλάξεσθε· τὰ κτήνη σου οὐ κατοχεύσεις ἑτεροζύγῳ· καὶ τὸν ἀμπελῶνά σου οὐ κατασπερεῖς διάφορον· καὶ ἱμάτιον ἐκ δύο ὑφασμένον κίβδηλον οὐκ ἐπιβαλεῖς σεαυτῷ.

ThomsonIf any man lie carnally with a woman, and she be a servant betrothed to a man, and hath not been redeemed, nor had her freedom granted her, they shall be chastised, but shall not be put to death, because she was not set free.
BrentonAnd if any one lie carnally with a woman, and she should be a home-servant kept for a man, and she has not been ransomed, and her freedom has not been given to her, they shall be visited with punishment; but they shall not die, because she was not set at liberty.
GreekΚαὶ ἐάν τις κοιμηθῇ μετὰ γυναικὸς κοίτην σπέρματος, καὶ αὕτη ᾖ οἰκέτις διαπεφυλαγμένη ἀνθρώπῳ, καὶ αὕτη λύτροις οὐ λελύτρωται, ἢ ἐλευθερία οὐκ ἐδόθη αὐτῇ, ἐπισκοπὴ ἔσται αὐτοῖς· οὐκ ἀποθανοῦνται, ὅτι οὐκ ἀπηλευθερώθη.

ThomsonAnd for his trespass against the Lord, he shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, the ram of a trespass offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for the sin which he hath committed; and the sin which he hath committed shall be forgiven him.
BrentonAnd he shall bring for his trespass to the Lord to the door of the tabernacle of witness, a ram for a trespass-offering.
GreekΚαὶ προσάξει τῆς πλημμελείας αὐτοῦ τῷ Κυρίῳ παρὰ τὴν θύραν τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου κριὸν πλημμελείας.

BrentonAnd the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, before the Lord, for the sin which he sinned; and the sin which he sinned shall be forgiven him.
GreekΚαὶ ἐξιλάσεται περὶ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐν τῷ κριῷ τῆς πλημμελείας ἔναντι Κυρίου περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας ἧς ἥμαρτε, καὶ ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῷ ἡ ἁμαρτία ἣν ἥμαρτεν.

ThomsonNow when you come into the land which the Lord your God giveth you, you may plant all sorts of trees for food; but you must purge away their impurity.
BrentonAnd whenever ye shall enter into the land which the Lord your God gives you, and shall plant any fruit-tree, then shall ye purge away its uncleanness; its fruit shall be three years uncleansed to you, it shall not be eaten.
GreekὍταν δὲ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν, καὶ καταφυτεύσετε πᾶν ξύλον βρώσιμον, καὶ περικαθαριεῖτε τὴν ἀκαθαρσίαν αὐτοῦ· ὁ καρπὸς αὐτοῦ τρία ἔτη ἔσται ὑμῖν ἀπερικάθαρτος, οὐ βρωθήσεται.

ThomsonThe fruit thereof shall be three years unclean to you, and shall not be eaten: and in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be hallowed, to praise the Lord;
BrentonAnd in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a subject of praise to the Lord.
GreekΚαὶ τῷ ἔτει τῷ τετάρτῳ ἔσται πᾶς ὁ καρπὸς αὐτοῦ ἅγιος αἰνετὸς τῷ Κυρίῳ.

Thomsonand in the fifth year, you may eat the fruit. The products thereof will be an additional supply to you. I am the Lord your God;
BrentonAnd in the fifth year ye shall eat the fruit, its produce is an increase to you. I am the Lord your God.

Thomsonyou must not eat on the mountains, nor practise divination, nor augury by birds.

ThomsonYou shall not make a rounding of the hair of your head, nor disfigure the appearance of your beard.
BrentonYe shall not make a round cutting of the hair of your head, nor disfigure your beard.
GreekΟὐ ποιήσετε σισόην ἐκ τῆς κόμης τῆς κεφαλῆς ὑμῶν, οὐδὲ φθερεῖτε τὴν ὄψιν τοῦ πώγωνος ὑμῶν.

ThomsonYou shall not make gashes in your body for the dead, nor any fixed marks on you. I am the Lord your God;
BrentonAnd ye shall not make cuttings in your body for a dead body, and ye shall not inscribe on yourselves any marks. I am the Lord your God.
GreekΚαὶ ἐντομίδας οὐ ποιήσετε ἐπὶ ψυχῇ ἐν τῷ σώματι ὑμῶν· καὶ γράμματα στικτὰ οὐ ποιήσετε ἐν ὑμῖν· ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν.

Thomsonthou shalt not prostitute thy daughter to cause her to commit whoredom, that the country may not fall into whoredom; and that the land may not be filled with iniquity.
BrentonThou shalt not profane thy daughter to prostitute her; so the land shall not go a whoring, and the land be filled with iniquity.
GreekΟὐ βεβηλώσεις τὴν θυγατέρα σου ἐκπορνεῦσαι αὐτήν· καὶ οὐκ ἐκπορνεύσει ἡ γῆ, καὶ ἡ γῆ πλησθήσεται ἀνομίας.

ThomsonYou shall keep My sabbaths, and reverence My holy things. I am the Lord your God:

Thomsonyou shall not go after trance-speakers, nor attach yourselves to sorcerers to be polluted by them. I am the Lord your God:
BrentonYe shall not attend to those who have in them divining spirits, nor attach yourselves to enchanters, to pollute yourselves with them: I am the Lord your God.

Thomsonyou shall rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of an elder, and fear thy God. I am the Lord your God;

Thomsonif any stranger come among you in your land, you shall not afflict him.
BrentonAnd if there should come to you a stranger in your land, ye shall not afflict him.

ThomsonThe stranger who cometh to you, shall be as one born among you; and thou shalt love him as thyself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God;
BrentonThe stranger that comes to you shall be among you as the native, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Thomsonyou shall not do injustice in the exercise of judgment, nor in measures, nor in weights, nor in balances.
BrentonYe shall not act unrighteously in judgment, in measures and weights and scales.
GreekΟὐ ποιήσετε ἄδικον ἐν κρίσει, ἐν μέτροις καὶ ἐν σταθμίοις καὶ ἐν ζυγοῖς.

ThomsonYou shall have among you just balances, just weights and a just measure. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt,

Thomsontherefore you shall keep all My law and all My statutes and do them. I am the Lord your God.
