ThomsonTO Thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul:
BrentonA Psalm of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence: and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.
GreekΤοῦ Δαυίδ. Κρίνον με, Κύριε, ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν ἀκακίᾳ μου ἐπορεύθην, καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ Κυρίῳ ἐλπίζων οὐ μὴ σαλευθῶ.

ThomsonO my God, in Thee I have put my trust: let me not be shamed, nor let mine enemies deride me;
BrentonProve me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my reins and my heart.
GreekΔοκίμασόν με, Κύριε, καὶ πείρασόν με, πύρωσον τοὺς νεφρούς μου καὶ τὴν καρδίαν μου.

Thomsonfor none who wait on Thee should be put to shame. Let them be shamed who vainly transgress.
BrentonFor thy mercy is before mine eyes: and I am well pleased with thy truth.
GreekὍτι τὸ ἔλεός σου κατέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν μου ἐστὶ, καὶ εὐηρέστησα ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ σου.

ThomsonO Lord, shew me Thy ways and teach me Thy paths.
BrentonI have not sat with the council of vanity, and will in nowise enter in with transgressors.
GreekΟὐκ ἐκάθισα μετὰ συνεδρίου ματαιότητος, καὶ μετὰ παρανομούντων οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθω·

ThomsonLead me to Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou, O God, art my saviour, and for Thee I have waited all the day long.
BrentonI have hated the assembly of wicked doers; and will not sit with ungodly men.
GreekἘμίσησα ἐκκλησίαν πονηρευομένων, καὶ μετὰ ἀσεβῶν οὐ μὴ καθίσω.

ThomsonO Lord, remember Thy compassion and Thy tender mercies; for they are from everlasting.
BrentonI will wash my hands in innocency, and compass thine altar, O Lord:
GreekΝίψομαι ἐν ἀθώοις τὰς χεῖράς μου, καὶ κυκλώσω τὸ θυσιαστήριόν σου, Κύριε·

ThomsonRemember not the sins and follies of my youth; according to Thy mercy remember me, O Lord, for Thy goodness’ sake.
Brentonto hear the voice of praise, and to declare all thy wonderful works.
GreekΤοῦ ἀκοῦσαι φωνῆς αἰνέσεως, καὶ διηγήσασθαι πάντα τὰ θαυμάσιά σου.

ThomsonThe Lord is gracious and righteous: therefore He will instruct sinners in the way:
BrentonO Lord, I have loved the beauty of thy house, and the place of the tabernacle of thy glory.
GreekΚύριε, ἠγάπησα εὐπρέπειαν οἴκου σου, καὶ τόπον σκηνώματος δόξης σου.

ThomsonHe will guide the meek in judgment: He will teach the meek His ways.
BrentonDestroy not my soul together with the ungodly, nor my life with bloody men:
GreekΜὴ συναπολέσῃς μετὰ ἀσεβῶν τὴν ψυχήν μου, καὶ μετὰ ἀνδρῶν αἱμάτων τὴν ζωήν μου,

ThomsonAll the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth; to them who seek His covenant and His testimonies.
Brentonin whose hands are iniquities, and their right hand is filled with bribes.
Greekὧν ἐν χερσὶν ἀνομίαι, ἡ δεξιὰ αὐτῶν ἐπλήσθη δώρων.

ThomsonFor the sake of Thy name therefore, O Lord, pardon this sin of mine, for it is manifold.
BrentonBut I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy upon me.
GreekἘγὼ δὲ ἐν ἀκακίᾳ μου ἐπορεύθην, λύτρωσαί με καὶ ἐλέησόν με.

ThomsonWhat man soever habitually feareth the Lord, him He will instruct in the way he hath chosen;
BrentonMy foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless thee, O Lord.
GreekὉ ποῦς μου ἔστη ἐν εὐθύτητι, ἐν ἐκκλησίαις εὐλογήσω σε Κύριε.
