3
ThomsonUnsheath the sword and stop my pursuers: say to my soul, I am thy safety.
BrentonFor he has dealt craftily before him, to discover his iniquity and hate it.

BrentonO Lord, thy mercy is in the heaven; and thy truth reaches to the clouds.
7
ThomsonSeeing they have without cause, hid for me their destructive snare—have, without reason, reproached my soul;
BrentonThy righteousness is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are as a great deep: O Lord, thou wilt preserve men and beasts.
8
Thomsonlet a snare, which they know not, come upon them, and the gin catch them, which they have hidden; and by that very snare let them fall.
BrentonHow hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of thy wings.
9
ThomsonBut let my soul rejoice in the Lord, and be delighted with His salvation.
BrentonThey shall be fully satisfied with the fatness of thine house; and thou shalt cause them to drink of the full stream of thy delights.
10
ThomsonLet all my bones say, O Lord, who is like Thee, who deliverest the afflicted from the hand of them who are stronger than he—the afflicted and needy from them who spoil him?
BrentonFor with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light we shall see light.
11
ThomsonFalse witnesses having risen up against me, laid to my charge things which I knew not;
BrentonExtend thy mercy to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
12
Thomsonthey returned me evil for good, even bereavement to my soul.
BrentonLet not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of sinners move me.
13
ThomsonAs for me, while they were raising troubles against me I clothed myself with sackcloth, and humbled my soul with fasting. Though my prayer is to return into mine own bosom,
BrentonThere have all the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast out, and shall not be able to stand.
