BrentonHave mercy upon us, O Lord God of all, and behold us:
GreekἘλέησον ἡμᾶς, δέσποτα ὁ Θεὸς πάντων, καὶ ἐπίβλεψον·

Thomson—
Brentonand send thy fear upon all the nations that seek not after thee.
Greekκαὶ ἐπίβαλε τὸν φόβον σου ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη.

Thomson—
BrentonLift up thy hand against the strange nations, and let them see thy power.
GreekἜπαρον τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπὶ ἔθνη ἀλλότρια, καὶ ἰδέτωσαν τὴν δυναστείαν σου.

BrentonAs thou wast sanctified in us before them: so be thou magnified among them before us.
GreekὭσπερ ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν ἡγιάσθης ἐν ἡμῖν, οὕτως ἐνώπιον ἡμῶν μεγαλυνθείης ἐν αὐτοῖς·

BrentonAnd let them know thee, as we have known thee, that there is no God but only thou, O God.
GreekΚαὶ ἐπιγνώτωσάν σε καθάπερ καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐπέγνωμεν, ὅτι οὐκ ἔστι Θεὸς πλήν σου Κύριε.

BrentonShew new signs, and make other strange wonders: glorify thy hand and thy right arm, that they may set forth thy wondrous works.
GreekἘγκαίνισον σημεῖα, καὶ ἀλλοίωσον θαυμάσια·

BrentonRaise up indignation, and pour out wrath: take away the adversary, and destroy the enemy.
Greekδόξασον χεῖρα καὶ βραχίονα δεξιόν· ἔγειρον θυμὸν, καὶ ἔκχεον ὀργήν· ἔξαρον ἀντίδικον, καὶ ἔκτριψον ἐχθρόν.

BrentonMake the time short, remember the covenant, and let them declare thy wonderful works.
GreekΣπεῦσον καιρὸν, καὶ μνήσθητι ὁρκισμοῦ, καὶ ἐκδιηγησάσθωσαν τὰ μεγαλεῖά σου.

BrentonLet him that escapeth be consumed by the rage of the fire; and let them perish that oppress the people.
GreekἘν ὀργῇ πυρὸς καταβρωθήτω ὁ σωζόμενος, καὶ οἱ κακοῦντες τὸν λαόν σου εὕροισαν ἀπώλειαν.

BrentonA cheerful and good heart will have a care of his meat and diet.
