Now the Lord God of Israel chose me in preference to all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. As He chose the royalty in Juda, and my father’s house out of the house of Juda and among the sons of my father, it was His pleasure that I should be king over all Israel;

Καὶ ἐξελέξατο Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν ἐμοὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς οἴκου πατρός μου εἶναι βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ἰσραὴλ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, καὶ ἐν Ἰούδα ᾑρέτικε τὸ βασίλειον, καὶ ἐξ οἴκου Ἰούδα τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός μου· καὶ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ πατρός μου, ἐν ἐμοὶ ἠθέλησε τοῦ γενέσθαι με εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ παντὶ Ἰσραήλ.
