ThomsonThe lower gallery was five cubits broad, and the middle six, and the third seven cubits broad; for he made ledges to the house, all around on the outside of the house that the beams might not be fastened into the walls of the house.
BrentonThe under side was five cubits broad, and the middle part six, and the third was seven cubits broad; for he formed an interval to the house round about without the house, that they might not touch the walls of the house.

ThomsonNow the house when building was built with white hewn stones, so that not a mallet nor a hammer nor any instrument of iron was heard in the house while it was building.
BrentonAnd the house was built in the construction of it with rough hewn stones: and there was not heard in the house in the building of it hammer or axe, or any iron tool.
GreekΚαὶ ὁ οἴκος ἐν τῷ οἰκοδομεῖσθαι αὐτὸν λίθοις ἀκροτομοις ἀργοῖς ᾠκοδομήθη· καὶ σφύρα καὶ πέλεκυς καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος σιδηροῦν οὐκ ἠκούσθη ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ ἐν τῷ οἰκοδομεῖσθαι αὐτόν.

ThomsonThe entrance into the lower gallery was under the right shoulder of the house; and there were winding stairs up to the middle and from the middle to the third gallery.
BrentonAnd the porch of the under side was below the right wing of the house, and there was a winding ascent into the middle chamber, and from the middle to the third story.
GreekΚαὶ ὁ πυλὼν τῆς πλευρᾶς τῆς ὑποκάτωθεν ὑπὸ τὴν ὠμίαν τοῦ οἴκου τὴν δεξιὰν, καὶ ἑλικτὴ ἀνάβασις εἰς τὸ μέσον, καὶ ἐκ τῆς μέσης ἐπὶ τὸ τριόροφα.

ThomsonAnd when he had completed the building of the house he wainscotted it with cedar.
BrentonSo he built the house and finished it; and he made the ceiling of the house with cedars.

ThomsonAnd having built the binding walls through the whole house to the height of five cubits, he connected the binding walls with cedar beams.
BrentonAnd he made the partitions through all the house, each five cubits high, and enclosed each partition with cedar boards.

ThomsonAnd having lined the walls of the house on the inside with planks of cedar, from the ground floor of the house up the walls and to the beams, and vaulted the ceiling on the inside with beams, he covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.
BrentonAnd he framed the walls of the house within with cedar boards, from the floor of the house and on to the inner walls and to the beams: he lined the parts enclosed with boards within, and compassed the inward parts of the house with planks of fir.

ThomsonAnd he built up the twenty cubits from the end wall as one compartment from the floor to the beams, and made of that the dabir or oracle—the Holy of Holies
BrentonAnd he built the twenty cubits from the top of the wall, one side from the floor to the beams, and he made it from the oracle to the most holy place.

ThomsonAnd in the dabir, he made two cherubim; ten cubits the exact magnitude,

Thomsonand five cubits the wing of one cherubim, and five cubits its other wing, making ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other wing.
BrentonAnd the wing of one cherub was five cubits, and his other wing was five cubits; ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other wing.

ThomsonAnd so in respect to the other cherubim. In measure and workmanship, they were both alike.

ThomsonThe height of the one cherubim was ten cubits, and that of the other cherubim was the same.

ThomsonAnd both the cherubim were in the middle of the innermost house, and they spread their wings so that a wing of one cherubim touched one wall, and a wing of the other cherubim touched the other wall, and their wings touched one another in the middle of the house.
BrentonAnd both the cherubs were in the midst of the innermost part of the house; and they spread out their wings, and one wing touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings in the midst of the house touched each other.

Thomsonand engraved all the walls of the house round about with engravings of cherubim and palm trees, both in the inner and outer apartment.
BrentonHe graved all the walls of the house round about with the graving of cherubs, and he sculptured palm trees within and without the house.
GreekΠάντας τοὺς τοίχους τοῦ οἴκου κύκλῳ ἐγκολαπτὰ ἔγραψε γραφίδι χερουβὶμ, καὶ φοίνικας τῷ ἐσωτέρῳ καὶ τῷ ἐξωτέρῳ.

ThomsonThe four panels for both the doors were of fir, and each door consisted of two leaves which turned each on its own hinges.

ThomsonAnd the doors were carved with cherubim and palm trees and open leaves, and covered with gold fitted to the carving.

ThomsonHe built also the inner court with three rows of hewn stone, and one row of cedar beams; and he made the curtain for the court of the porch of the house which was in the front of the temple.
