And David was in great distress, for the people talked of stoning him; for the soul of all the people was exasperated, every one for his sons, and his daughters. David, however, was strengthened by the Lord his God.

And David was greatly distressed, because the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, each for his sons and his daughters: but David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Καὶ ἐθλίβη Δαυὶδ σφόδρα, ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς λιθοβολῆσαι αὐτὸν, ὅτι κατώδυνος ψυχὴ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἑκάστου ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἐκραταιώθη Δαυὶδ ἐν Κυρίῳ Θεῷ αὐτοῦ.
