ThomsonAND at that time Michael, the great prince who hath been over the children of thy people, will stand up, and there will be a time of tribulation—a tribulation such as hath not been since there was a nation on the earth even to this time. At that time all thy people who are enrolled in the book shall be saved.
BrentonAnd at that time Michael the great prince shall stand up, that stands over the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of tribulation, such tribulation as has not been from the time that there was a nation on the earth until that time: at that time thy people shall be delivered, even every one that is written in the book.
GreekΚαὶ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀναστήσεται Μιχαὴλ ὁ ἄρχων ὁ μέγας, ὁ ἑστηκὼς ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ λαοῦ σου· καὶ ἔσται καιρὸς θλίψεως, θλίψις οἵα οὐ γέγονεν ἀφʼ οὗ γεγένηται ἔθνος ἐν τῇ γῇ, ἕως τοῦ καιροῦ ἐκείνου· ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ σωθήσεται ὁ λαός σου πᾶς ὁ γεγραμμένος ἐν τῇ βίβλῳ.

ThomsonAnd many of them who sleep in mounds of earth shall be raised up: some for everlasting life, and some for disgrace and everlasting shame.
BrentonAnd many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting shame.
GreekΚαὶ πολλοὶ τῶν καθευδόντων ἐν γῆς χώματι ἐξεγερθήσονται, οὗτοι εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον, καὶ οὗτοι εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν καὶ εἰς αἰσχύνην αἰώνιον.

ThomsonAnd they who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament; and some of the many righteous, like the stars for the ages and longer.
BrentonAnd the wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and some of the many righteous as the stars for ever and ever.

ThomsonAs for thee, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book till the time of accomplishment; until many be taught and knowledge abound.
BrentonAnd thou, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.

ThomsonThen I, Daniel, looked, and lo! two others stood, one on this bank of the river and the other on the other bank of the river.
BrentonAnd I Daniel saw, and, behold, two others stood, one on one side of the bank of the river, and the other on the other side of the bank of the river.

ThomsonAnd one said to the man clothed with the flowing robes who was over the water of the river, How long to the end of these wonderful things which thou hast spoken?
BrentonAnd one said to the man clothed in linen, who was over the water of the river, When will be the end of the wonders which thou hast mentioned?
GreekΚαὶ εἶπε τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ ἐνδεδυμένῳ τὰ βαδδὶν, ὃς ἦν ἐπάνω τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ ποταμοῦ, ἕως πότε τὸ πέρας ὧν εἴρηκας τῶν θαυμασίων;

ThomsonAnd I heard the man clothed with the fine robes who was over the water of the river. He lifted up his right and his left hand to heaven and swore by Him Who liveth forever and ever that it will be until a time of times and the half of a time. When an end is put to the dispersion, they will know all these things.
BrentonAnd I heard the man clothed in linen, who was over the water of the river, and he lifted up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and sware by him that lives for ever, that it should be for a time of times and half a time: when the dispersion is ended they shall know all these things.

ThomsonAs for me, though I heard, I did not understand.
BrentonAnd I heard, but I understood not: and I said, O Lord, what will be the end of these things?
GreekΚαὶ ἐγὼ ἤκουσα, καὶ οὐ συνῆκα· καὶ εἶπα, Κύριε, τί τὰ ἔσχατα τούτων;

ThomsonSo I said, [my] lord, what will be the issue of these things? And he said, Come Daniel. Because these words are shut up and sealed until the end of a time.
BrentonAnd he said, Go, Daniel: for the words are closed and sealed up to the time of the end.
GreekΚαὶ εἶπε, δεῦρο Δανιὴλ, ὅτι ἐμπεφραγμένοι καὶ ἐσφραγισμένοι οἱ λόγοι ἕως καιροῦ πέρας.

ThomsonThough many be chosen and made white and purified and sanctified, and transgressors transgress; yet no transgressor will understand, but the sensible will.
BrentonMany must be tested, and thoroughly whitened, and tried with fire, and sanctified; but the transgressors shall transgress: and none of the transgressors shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
GreekἘκλεγῶσι, καὶ ἐκλευκανθῶσι, καὶ πυρωθῶσι, καὶ ἁγιασθῶσι πολλό· καὶ ἀνομήσωσιν ἄνομοι, καὶ οὐ συνήσουσι πάντες ἄνομοι, καὶ οἱ νοήμονες συνήσουσι.

ThomsonNow from the time of the change of the daily sacrifice, when the abomination of desolation shall be set up there will be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
BrentonAnd from the time of the removal of the perpetual sacrifice, when the abomination of desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

ThomsonBut as for thee, come and go to rest, for still there will be days and hours to the final accomplishment. And thou shalt stand up for thy portion at the end of days.
BrentonBut go thou, and rest; for there are yet days and seasons to the fulfilment of the end; and thou shalt stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
