ThomsonAGAIN Moses, with the elders of Israel, gave a charge, saying, You shall keep all these commandments which I this day command you.
BrentonAnd Moses and the elders of Israel commanded, saying, Keep all these commands, all that I command you this day.

ThomsonWhen you have crossed the Jordan, into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee; thou shalt set up for thyself large stones, and plaster them with mortar,
BrentonAnd it shall come to pass in the day when ye shall cross over Jordan into the land which the Lord thy God gives thee, that thou shalt set up for thyself great stones, and shalt plaster them with plaster.
GreekΚαὶ ἔσται ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ διαβῆτε τὸν Ἰορδάνην εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου δίδωσί σοι, καὶ στήσεις σεαυτῷ λίθους μεγάλους, καὶ κονιάσεις αὐτοὺς κονίᾳ.

GreekΚαὶ γράψεις ἐπὶ τῶν λίθων τούτων πάντας τούς λόγους τοῦ νόμου τούτου, ὠς ἂν διαβῆτε τὸν Ἰορδάνην, ἡνίκα ἂν εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σου δίδωσί σοι, γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι, ὃν τρόπον εἶπε Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σού σοί.

ThomsonSoon as you have crossed the Jordan—when you are come to the land which the Lord the God of thy fathers giveth thee—a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord the God of thy fathers promised thee, you shall, immediately after your crossing the Jordan, set up these stones, which I this day command thee, at mount Garizin, and thou shalt plaster them with mortar,

Thomsonand build there an altar to the Lord thy God—an altar of stones. Thou shalt not lift up a tool upon it.

ThomsonThen thou shalt offer there a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and when thou hast eaten, and art filled, and hast rejoiced before the Lord thy God;

ThomsonThen Moses with the priests, the Levites, spoke to all Israel, saying:

ThomsonBe silent and hear, O Israel. Thou art this day made a people for the Lord thy God; therefore thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and perform all His commandments, and His rules of rectitude, which I this day command thee.
BrentonAnd thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and shalt do all his commands, and his ordinances, as many as I command thee this day.

Thomsonand the Levites shall address all Israel, and say with a loud voice:

ThomsonCursed the man who shall make a graven, or molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of artists, though he set it up in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
BrentonCursed is the man whosoever shall make a graven or molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of craftsmen, and shall put it in a secret place: and all the people shall answer and say, So be it.

ThomsonCursed he who slighteth his father or his mother.
And all the people shall say, Amen.

ThomsonCursed he who removeth his neighbour’s landmark.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
And all the people shall say, Amen.

ThomsonCursed he who leadeth the blind out of the way.
And all the people shall say, Amen.

BrentonCursed is he that makes the blind to wander in the way: and all the people shall say, So be it.
GreekἘπικατάρατος ὁ πλανῶν τυφλὸν ἐν ὁδῷ· καὶ ἐροῦσι πᾶς ὁ λαός, γένοιτο.

ThomsonCursed he who perverteth the judgment of the stranger, or the orphan, or the widow.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
BrentonCursed is every one that shall pervert the judgment of the stranger, and orphan, and widow: and all the people shall say, So be it.
GreekἘπικατάρατος ὃς ἂν ἐκκλίνῃ κρίσιν προσηλύτου καὶ ὀρφανοῦ καὶ χήρας· καὶ ἐροῦσι πᾶς ὁ λαός, γένοιτο.

And all the people shall say, Amen.

Cursed he who lieth with the sister of his wife.

ThomsonCursed he who smiteth his neighbour secretly.
And all the people shall say, Amen.

ThomsonCursed he who taketh bribes to slay an innocent person.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
BrentonCursed is he whosoever shall have taken a bribe to slay an innocent man: and all the people shall say, So be it.

ThomsonCursed be every man who will not persevere in all the words of this law, to do them.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
And all the people shall say, Amen.
BrentonCursed is every man that continues not in all the words of this law to do them: and all the people shall say, So be it.
