Then I made supplication before the Lord, a second time, as I had done before, forty days and forty nights—(I neither ate bread nor drank water)—for your sins which you had committed by doing evil in the sight of the Lord God, to provoke Him to wrath.

And I made my petition before the Lord as also at the first forty days and forty nights: I ate no bread and drank no water, on account of all your sins which ye sinned in doing evil before the Lord God to provoke him.

Καὶ ἐδεήθην ἐναντίον Κυρίου δεύτερον καθάπερ καὶ τὸ πρότερον τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας καὶ τεσσαράκοντα νύκτας, ἄρτον οὐκ ἔφαγον καὶ ὕδωρ οὐκ ἔπιον, περὶ πασῶν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ὑμῶν ὧν ἡμάρτετε ποιῆσαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ παροξῦναι αὐτόν.
