ThomsonNOW the Lord had spoken to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt and said, I will inflict yet one stroke more on Pharao and on Egypt and after that he will send you away from his country. And when he shall send you away he will drive you out altogether in haste.

BrentonAnd the Lord said to Moses, I will yet bring one plague upon Pharao and upon Egypt, and after that he will send you forth thence; and whenever he sends you forth with every thing, he will indeed drive you out.

GreekΕἶπε δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, ἔτι μίαν πληγὴν ἐγὼ ἐπάξω ἐπὶ Φαραὼ, καὶ ἐπʼ Αἴγυπτον, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξαποστελεῖ ὑμᾶς ἐντεῦθεν· ὅταν δὲ ἐξαποστέλλῃ ὑμᾶς σὺν παντὶ, ἐκβαλεῖ ὑμᾶς ἐκβολῇ.

ThomsonSpeak therefore privately to the ears of the people, and let every one ask of his neighbour vessels of silver and gold and raiment.

ThomsonAnd the Lord had given his people favour in the sight of the Egyptians and they supplied them. The man Moses also was become very great in the sight of the Egyptians and in the sight of Pharao, and in the eyes of his attendants, therefore Moses said:

Thomsonand every first-born in the land of Egypt shall die—from the first-born of Pharao who sitteth on the throne, to the first-born of the female slave who is at the grinding mill, including also the first-born of all the cattle.

ThomsonBut among all the children of Israel and their cattle not even a dog shall bark at man or beast, that thou mayst know what a distinction the Lord will make between the Egyptians and the Israelites.

BrentonBut among all the children of Israel shall not a dog snarl with his tongue, either at man or beast; that thou mayest know how wide a distinction the Lord will make between the Egyptians and Israel.

GreekΚαὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ οὐ γρύξει κύων τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτοῦ, ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους· ὅπως εἰδῇς ὅσα παραδοξάσει Κύριος ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καὶ τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.

ThomsonAnd all these thy servants will come down to Me and make obeisance to Me and say, Go away thou and all thy people whom thou wouldst take with thee. Then Moses went out from Pharao with indignation

BrentonAnd all these thy servants shall come down to me, and do me reverence, saying, Go forth, thou and all the people over whom thou presidest, and afterwards I will go forth.

GreekΚαὶ καταβήσονται πάντες οἱ παῖδές σου οὗτοι πρός με, καὶ προσκυνήσουσί με, λέγοντες, ἔξελθε σὺ, καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαός σου, οὗ σὺ ἀφηγῇ· καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξελεύσομαι· ἐξῆλθε δὲ Μωυσῆς ἀπὸ Φαραὼ μετὰ θυμοῦ.

Thomsonand the Lord said to Moses, Pharao will not hearken to you that I may fully complete My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.—

BrentonAnd Moses went forth from Pharao with wrath. And the Lord said to Moses, Pharao will not hearken to you, that I may greatly multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.

GreekΕἶπε δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, οὐκ εἰσακούσεται ὑμῶν Φαραὼ, ἵνα πληθύνων πληθυνῶ μου τὰ σημεῖα, καὶ τὰ τέρατα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ.

ThomsonThough Moses and Aaron had done all those signs and those wonders in the land of Egypt in the presence of Pharao, yet the Lord suffered the heart of Pharao to be stubborn that he hearkened not to send away the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.

BrentonAnd Moses and Aaron wrought all these signs and wonders in the land of Egypt before Pharao; and the Lord hardened the heart of Pharao, and he did not hearken to send forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

GreekΜωσῆς δὲ καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐποίησαν πάντα τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰ τέρατα ταῦτα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐναντίον Φαραώ· ἐσκλήρυνε δὲ Κύριος τὴν καρδίαν Φαραὼ, καὶ οὐκ εἰσήκουσεν ἐξαποστεῖλαι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου.
