ThomsonTHIS was the vision of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and I heard a voice of One speaking and He said to me, Son of man, stand on thy feet and I will speak to thee.
BrentonThis was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw and fell upon my face, and heard the voice of one speaking: and he said to me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak to thee.
GreekΑὕτη ἡ ὅρασις ὁμοιώματος δόξης Κυρίου· καὶ ἴδον, καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου, καὶ ἤκουσα φωνὴν λαλοῦντος· καὶ εἶπε πρὸς μὲ, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, στῆθι ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας σου, καὶ λαλήσω πρὸς σέ·

ThomsonWhereupon a blast of wind came upon me and took me and lifted me up and set me on my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me and He said to me:
BrentonAnd the Spirit came upon me, and took me up, and raised me, and set me on my feet: and I heard him speaking to me.
GreekΚαὶ ἦλθεν ἐπʼ ἐμὲ πνεῦμα, καὶ ἀνέλαβέ με, καὶ ἐξῇρέ με, καὶ ἔστησέ με ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας μου, καὶ ἤκουον αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος πρὸς μέ.

ThomsonSon of man, I am about to send thee to the house of Israel, to them who are provoking Me; who have provoked Me, both they and their fathers even to this day.
BrentonAnd he said to me, Son of man, I send thee forth to the house of Israel, them that provoke me; who have provoked me, they and their fathers, to this day.
GreekΚαὶ εἶπε πρὸς μὲ, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, ἐξαποστέλλω ἐγώ σε πρὸς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ, τοὺς παραπικραίνοντάς με, οἵτινες παρεπίκρανάν με, αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας.

ThomsonAnd thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord,
BrentonAnd thou shalt say to them, Thus saith the Lord.
GreekΚαὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτοὺς, τάδε λέγει Κύριος,

Thomsonwhether they hear or be affrighted; (for they are a provoking house) and let them know that thou art a prophet among them.
BrentonWhether then indeed they shall hear or fear, (for it is a provoking house,) yet they shall know that thou art a prophet in the midst of them.
Greekἐὰν ἆρα ἀκούσωσιν ἢ πτοηθῶσι, διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστὶ, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι προφήτης εἶ σὺ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν.

ThomsonAnd thou son of man, be not afraid of them nor daunted at their presence. Because they will sting thee and rise up against thee on all sides and thou dwellest in the midst of scorpions. Be not afraid of their words nor terrified at their looks—because they are a provoking house,
BrentonAnd thou, son of man, fear them not, nor be dismayed at their face; (for they will madden and will rise up against thee round about, and thou dwellest in the midst of scorpions): be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their countenance, for it is a provoking house.
GreekΚαὶ σὺ, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, μὴ φοβηθῇς αὐτοὺς, μηδὲ ἐκστῇς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν· διότι παροιστρήσουσι, καὶ ἐπισυστήσονται ἐπὶ σὲ κύκλῳ, καὶ ἐν μέσῳ σκορπίων σὺ κατοικεῖς· τοὺς λόγους αὐτῶν μὴ φοβηθῇς, καὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν μὴ ἐκστῇς, διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστί.

Thomsontherefore thou shalt deliver My words to them whether they hear or be affrighted.
BrentonAnd thou shalt speak my words to them, whether they will hear or fear: for it is a provoking house.
GreekΚαὶ λαλήσεις τοὺς λόγους μου πρὸς αὐτοὺς, ἐὰν ἆρα ἀκούσωσιν ἢ πτοηθῶσιν, ὅτι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστί.

ThomsonBecause they are a provoking house, thou therefore, son of man, hear Him Who is speaking to thee and be not thou rebellious like this rebellious house. Open thy mouth and eat what I give thee.
BrentonAnd thou, son of man, hear him that speaks to thee; be not thou provoking, as the provoking house: open thy mouth, and eat what I give thee.
GreekΚαὶ σὺ, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, ἄκουε τοῦ λαλοῦντος πρὸς σὲ, μὴ γίνου παραπικραίνων, καθὼς ὁ οἶκος ὁ παραπικραίνων· χάνε τὸ στόμα σου, καὶ φάγε ὃ ἐγὼ δίδωμί σοι.

ThomsonThen I looked, and lo! a hand stretched out towards me and in it a roll of a book
BrentonAnd I looked, and behold, a hand stretched out to me, and in it a volume of a book.
GreekΚαὶ ἴδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ χεὶρ ἐκτεταμένη πρὸς μὲ, καὶ ἐν αὐτῇ κεφαλὶς βιβλίου.

Thomsonand He unfolded it before me and there were writings on it on both sides. And the writings were funeral odes and songs of woe.
BrentonAnd he unrolled it before me: and in it the front and the back were written upon: and there was written in it Lamentation, and mournful song, and woe.
GreekΚαὶ ἀνείλησεν αὐτὴν ἐνώπιόν μου, καὶ ἦν ἐν αὐτῇ γεγραμμένα τὰ ἔμπροσθεν καὶ τὰ ὀπίσω· καὶ ἐγέγραπτο θρῆνος καὶ μέλος καὶ οὐαί.
