ThomsonTHUS saith the Lord God, The gate of the inner court which faceth the east, shall be kept shut the six working days. On the day of the sabbaths it must be opened and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
BrentonThus saith the Lord God; The gate that is in the inner court, that looks eastward, shall be shut the six working days; but let it be opened on the sabbath-day, and it shall be opened on the day of the new moon.
GreekΤάδε λέγει Κύριος Θεὸς, ἡ πύλη ἡ ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ τῇ ἐσωτέρᾳ, ἡ βλέπουσα πρὸς ἀνατολὰς, ἔσται κεκλεισμένη ἓξ ἡμέρας τὰς ἐνεργούς· ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων ἀνοιχθῇ, καὶ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς νουμηνίας ἀνοιχθήσεται.

ThomsonAnd the ruler shall go in by the way of the porch of the gate on the inside and shall stand in the vestibule of the gate. And the priests shall prepare his whole burnt offerings and his offerings of thanksgiving; and he shall make his adoration in the vestibule of the gate and go out. But the gate shall not be shut till evening.
BrentonAnd the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of the inner gate, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his whole-burnt-offerings and his peace-offerings, and he shall worship at the entrance of the gate: then shall he come forth; but the gate shall not be shut till evening.
GreekΚαὶ εἰσελεύσεται ὁ ἀφηγούμενος κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ αἰλὰμ τῆς πύλης τῆς ἔσωθεν, καὶ στήσεται ἐπὶ τὰ πρόθυρα τῆς πύλης, καὶ ποιήσουσιν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὰ τοῦ σωτηρίου αὐτοῦ.

ThomsonAnd the people of the land shall make their adorations on a range with the vestibule of this gate, both on the sabbath days and at the new moons, before the Lord.
BrentonAnd the people of the land shall worship at the entrance of that gate, both on the sabbaths and at the new moons, before the Lord.

ThomsonAnd on the sabbath days the ruler shall offer to the Lord, for whole burnt offerings, six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish and a libation and cake for the ram; and for the lambs, a sacrifice,

Thomsonand on the day of the new moon a young bull without blemish and six lambs and a ram which shall be without blemish;
BrentonAnd on the day of the new moon a calf without blemish, and six lambs, and there shall be a ram without blemish;

Thomsonand there shall be a cake for the ram and a cake for the young bull with a libation, and for the lambs a voluntary gift and a hin of oil to every cake.
Brentonand a meat-offering for the ram, and there shall be a meat-offering for the calf as a freewill-offering, and for the lambs, according as his hand can furnish, and there shall be a hin of oil for the cake.

ThomsonAnd when the ruler cometh in he shall come in by the way of the porch of the gate, but he shall go out by the way of the gate.
BrentonAnd when the prince goes in, he shall go in by the way of the porch of the gate, and he shall go forth by the way of the gate.
GreekΚαὶ ἐν τῷ εἰσπορεύεσθαι τὸν ἀφηγούμενον, κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ αἰλὰμ τῆς πύλης εἰσελεύσεται, καὶ κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τῆς πύλης ἐξελεύσεται.

ThomsonAnd when the people of the land come in before the Lord at the festivals, he who cometh in at the north gate to worship shall go out at the south gate; and he who cometh in at the south gate shall go out at the north gate. He shall not turn back to the gate at which he entered, but shall go out straight forward.
BrentonAnd whenever the people of the land shall go in before the Lord at the feasts, he that goes in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go forth by the way of the south gate; and he that goes in by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the gate by which he entered, but he shall go forth opposite it.
GreekΚαὶ ὅταν εἰσπορεύηται ὁ λαὸς τῆς γῆς ἐναντίον Κυρίου ἐν ταῖς ἑορταῖς, ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τῆς πύλης τῆς βλεπούσης πρὸς Βοῤῥᾶν προσκυνεῖν, ἐξελεύσεται κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τῆς πύλης τῆς πρὸς Νότον· καὶ ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τῆς πύλης τῆς πρὸς Νότον, ἐξελεύσεται κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τῆς πύλης τῆς πρὸς Βοῤῥᾶν· οὐκ ἀναστρέψει κατὰ τὴν πύλην εἰς ἣν εἰσελήλυθεν, ἀλλʼ ἢ κατʼ εὐθὺ αὐτῆς ἐξελεύσεται.

ThomsonAnd if the ruler is in the midst of them when they come in, he shall come in with them, and when they go out he shall go out.
BrentonAnd the prince shall enter with them in the midst of them when they go in; and when they go forth, he shall go forth.
GreekΚαὶ ὁ ἀφηγούμενος ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν, ἐν τῷ εἰσπορεύεσθαι αὐτοὺς εἰσελεύσεται μετʼ αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐκπορεύεσθαι αὐτοὺς ἐξελεύσεται.

ThomsonBoth at the festivals and at the general assemblies there shall be a libation and cake for the young bull and a cake for the ram; and for the lambs a voluntary gift with a hin of oil for every cake.

ThomsonAnd if the ruler shall make a voluntary whole burnt offering of thanksgiving to the Lord, he may cause to be opened for himself the gate facing the east and make his whole burnt offering and his offerings of thanksgiving in the same manner as he doth on the day of the sabbaths. Then he shall go out, and after he is gone out he shall cause the gates to be shut.
BrentonAnd if the prince should prepare as a thanksgiving a whole-burnt-peace-offering to the Lord, and should open for himself the gate looking eastward, and offer his whole-burnt-offering, and his peace-offerings, as he does on the sabbath-day; then shall he go out, and shall shut the doors after he has gone out.

ThomsonMoreover he shall every day prepare a lamb of the first year without blemish for a whole burnt offering to the Lord. In the morning he shall prepare it;
BrentonAnd he shall prepare daily as a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord a lamb of a year old without blemish: in the morning shall he prepare it.
GreekΚαὶ ἀμνὸν ἐνιαύσιον ἄμωμον ποιήσει εἰς ὁλοκαύτωμα καθʼ ἡμέραν τῷ Κυρίῳ, πρωῒ ποιήσει αὐτόν·

Thomsonand every morning he shall prepare the libation for it, the sixth of the measure and the third of an hin of oil to mix up the offering of fine flour for the Lord.
BrentonAnd he shall prepare a freewill-offering for it in the morning, the sixth part of a measure of flour, and a third part of a hin of oil to mix therewith the fine flour, as a freewill-offering to the Lord, a perpetual ordinance.
GreekΚαὶ μαναὰ ποιήσει ἐπʼ αὐτῷ τὸπρωῒ, ἕκτον τοῦ μέτρου, καὶ ἐλαίου τρίτον τοῦ εἲν τοῦ ἀναμίξαι τὴν σεμίδαλιν μαναὰ τῷ Κυρίῳ, πρόσταγμα διαπαντός.

ThomsonThis is a standing order, you shall offer the lamb and its libation. And you shall offer the oil every morning. It is a continual whole burnt offering.
BrentonYe shall prepare the lamb, and the freewill-offering, and the oil in the morning, for a perpetual whole-burnt-sacrifice.
GreekΠοιήσετε τὸν ἀμνὸν, καὶ τὸ μαναὰ, καὶ τὸ ἔλαιον ποιήσετε τοπρωῒ, ὁλοκαύτωμα διαπαντός.

ThomsonThus saith the Lord God: If the ruler make a gift to one of his sons out of his inheritance, his sons shall hold it as an hereditary possession;
BrentonThus saith the Lord God; If the prince shall give a gift to one of his sons out of his inheritance, this shall be to his sons a possession as an inheritance.
GreekΤάδε λέγει Κύριος Θεὸς, ἐὰν δῷ ὁ ἀφηγούμενος δόμα ἑνὶ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτοῦ, τοῦτο τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ ἔσται κατάσχεσις κληρονομία·

Thomsonbut if he make a gift to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of jubilee, and shall then revert to the ruler. None but his sons shall have an hereditary right.
BrentonBut if he give a gift to one of his servants, then it shall belong to him until the year of release; and then he shall restore it to the prince: but of the inheritance of his sons the possession shall continue to them.
GreekἘὰν δὲ δῷ δόμα ἑνὶ τῶν παίδων αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσται αὐτῷ ἕως τοῦ ἔτους τῆς ἀφέσεως, καὶ ἀποδώσει τῷ ἀφηγουμένῳ· πλὴν τῆς κληρονομίας τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ αὐτοῖς ἔσται.

ThomsonThe ruler must not take any part of the people’s inheritance by oppression. Out of his own possessions he shall give an inheritance to his sons, that My people may not be driven every one from his possession.
BrentonAnd the prince shall by no means take of the inheritance of the people, to oppress them: he shall give an inheritance to his sons out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered, every one from his possession.
GreekΚαὶ οὐ μὴ λάβῃ ὁ ἀφηγούμενος ἐκ τῆς κληρονομίας τοῦ λαοῦ, καταδυναστεῦσαι αὐτοὺς, ἐκ τῆς κατασχέσεως αὐτοῦ κατακληρονομήσει τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ, ὅπως μὴ διασκορπίζηται ὁ λαός μου, ἕκαστος ἐκ τῆς κατασχέσεως αὐτοῦ.

ThomsonThen he led me to the entrance of the passage behind the gate, leading to the chambers of the priests facing the north. And lo! here was a place set apart.
BrentonAnd he brought me into the entrance of the place behind the gate, into the chamber of the sanctuary belonging to the priests, that looks toward the north: and, behold, there was a place set apart.
GreekΚαὶ εἰσήγαγέ με εἰς τὴν εἴσοδον τῆς κατὰ νώτου τῆς πύλης, εἰς τὴν ἐξέδραν τῶν ἁγίων τῶν ἱερέων, τὴν βλέπουσαν πρὸς Βοῤῥᾶν· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ τόπος κεχωρισμένος.

ThomsonAnd he said to me, This is the place where the priests are to boil the trespass offerings, and the sin offerings and where they are to bake all the offerings of flour, that they may not carry them out into the outer court, for fear of hallowing the people.
BrentonAnd he said to me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass-offerings and the sin-offerings, and there shall they bake the meat-offering always; so as not to carry them out into the outer court, to sanctify the people.
GreekΚαὶ εἶπε πρὸς μὲ, οὗτος ὁ τόπος ἐστὶν, οὗ ἑψήσουσιν ἐκεῖ οἱ ἱερεῖς τὰ ὑπὲρ ἀγνοίας καὶ τὰ ὑπὲρ ἁμαρτίας, καὶ ἐκεῖ πέψουσι τὸ μαναὰ τὸ παράπαν, τοῦ μὴ ἐκφέρειν εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τὴν ἐξωτέραν, τοῦ ἁγιάζειν τὸν λαόν.

ThomsonThen he led me to the outer court and conducted me round the four sides of the court. And lo! a court at the four corners of this court.
BrentonAnd he brought me into the outer court, and led me round upon the four sides of the court; and, behold, there was a court on each of the sides of the court,

ThomsonAt every corner a court; a court with four sides; and the little court of this court was forty cubits long and thirty cubits broad. The four were of the same measure;
Brentonon every side a court, even a court for all the four sides, and each little court belonging to the court was in length forty cubits, and in breadth thirty cubits, there was one measure to the four.

Thomsonand in them were chambers around the four. And under these chambers round about were kitchens.
BrentonAnd there were chambers in them round about, round about the four, and cooking-places formed under the chambers round about.
GreekΚαὶ ἐξέδραι κύκλῳ ἐν αὐταῖς, κυκλῳ ταῖς τέσσαρσι· καὶ μαγειρεῖα γεγονότα ὑποκάτω τῶν ἐξεδρῶν κύκλῳ.

ThomsonAnd he said to me, These are the houses of the cooks, where they who minister in the house are to boil the sacrifices of the people.
BrentonAnd he said to me, These are the cooks' houses, where they that serve the house shall boil the sacrifices of the people.
GreekΚαὶ εἶπε πρὸς μὲ, οὗτοι οἱ οἶκοι τῶν μαγείρων, οὗ ἑψήσουσιν ἐκεῖ οἱ λειτουργοῦντες τῷ οἴκῳ τὰ θύματα τοῦ λαοῦ.
