ThomsonHO! ye who are thirsting, come to water! and ye who have no money, come buy and eat, without money and without price, wine and the choicest bread.
BrentonYe that thirst, go to the water, and all that have no money, go and buy; and eat and drink wine and fat without money or price.
GreekΟἱ διψῶντες πορεύεσθε ἐφʼ ὕδωρ, καὶ ὅσοι μὴ ἔχετε ἀργύριον, βαδίσαντες ἀγοράσατε, καὶ φάγετε ἄνευ ἀργυρίου καὶ τιμῆς οἶνον καὶ στέαρ.

ThomsonWhy are you expending money and labour for that which will not satisfy? Hearken to Me and you shall eat good things; and your soul will be regaled with delicacies.
BrentonWherefore do ye value at the price of money, and give your labour for that which will not satisfy? hearken to me, and ye shall eat that which is good, and your soul shall feast itself on good things.
GreekἹνατί τιμᾶσθε ἀργυρίου, καὶ τὸν μόχθον ὑμῶν οὐκ εἰς πλησμονήν; ἀκούσατέ μου, καὶ φάγεσθε ἀγαθὰ, καὶ ἐντρυφήσει ἐν ἀγαθοῖς ἡ ψυχὴ ὑμῶν.

ThomsonIncline your ears and follow in My paths; hearken to Me and your soul shall live on good things; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant—the gracious promises to David which are faithful.
BrentonGive heed with your ears, and follow my ways: hearken to me, and your soul shall live in prosperity; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the sure mercies of David.

ThomsonBehold for a testimony to nations I gave him,—a chief and a lawgiver to nations.
BrentonBehold, I have made him a testimony among the Gentiles, a prince and commander to the Gentiles.

ThomsonNations which knew thee not will fly to thee, for the sake of the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, because He hath glorified thee.
BrentonNations which know thee not, shall call upon thee, and peoples which are not acquainted with thee, shall flee to thee for refuge, for the sake of the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified thee.

Thomsonlet the wicked man forsake his ways, and the unrighteous man his counsels, and turn to the Lord and he shall find mercy; for He will abundantly pardon your sins.

Thomsonso shall it be with My word: when it hath proceeded from My mouth, it shall not be reversed, till all are accomplished which I willed; and till I prosper thy ways and My commandments.
Brentonso shall my word be, whatever shall proceed out of my mouth, it shall by no means turn back, until all the things which I willed shall have been accomplished; and I will make thy ways prosperous, and will effect my commands.

ThomsonAnd instead of the briar, shall spring up the cypress; and instead of the nettle, shall come up the myrtle. And the Lord shall be for a name, and for an everlasting sign which shall not fail.
