ThomsonHAPPY the man who feareth the Lord! in His commandments he will greatly delight.
BrentonAlleluia. Praise the Lord, ye servants of his, praise the name of the Lord.
GreekἈλληλούϊα. Αἰνεῖτε παῖδες Κύριον, αἰνεῖτε τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου.

ThomsonHis seed shall be mighty in the land: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
BrentonLet the name of the Lord be blessed, from this present time and for ever.
GreekΕἴη τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου εὐλογημένον ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν καὶ ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος.

ThomsonGlory and riches are in his house; and his righteousness shall endure forever.
BrentonFrom the rising of the sun to his setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.
GreekἈπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου μέχρι δυσμῶν, αἰνετὸν τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου.

ThomsonTo the upright light sprang up in darkness. He is merciful, compassionate and just;
BrentonThe Lord is high above all the nations; his glory is above the heavens.
GreekὙψηλὸς ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ὁ Κύριος, ἐπὶ τοὺς οὐρανοὺς ἡ δόξα αὐτοῦ.

Thomsona beneficent man who commiserateth and lendeth. He will manage his affairs with judgment;
BrentonWho is as the Lord our God? who dwells in the high places,
GreekΤίς ὡς Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν; ὁ ἐν ὑψηλοῖς κατοικῶν,

Thomsonbecause he is never to be shaken; the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance:

Greekκαὶ τὰ ταπεινὰ ἐφορῶν ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ, καὶ ἐν τῇ γῇ·

Thomsonat bad news he will not be terrified:
Brentonwho lifts up the poor from the earth, and raises up the needy from the dunghill;
Greekὁ ἐγείρων ἀπὸ γῆς πτωχὸν, καὶ ἀπὸ κοπρίας ἀνυψῶν πένητα,

Thomsonhis heart is prepared to trust in the Lord. His heart is established, he could not be terrified; even when he beheld his enemies.
Brentonto set him with princes, even with the princes of his people:
Greekτοῦ καθίσαι αὐτὸν μετὰ ἀρχόντων, μετὰ ἀρχόντων λαοῦ αὐτοῦ·

ThomsonHe hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; his righteousness shall endure forever. His horn shall be gloriously exalted:
Brentonwho settles the barren woman in a house, as a mother rejoicing over children.
