ThomsonTHE heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaimeth the work of His hands.

ThomsonDay to day pronounceth a decree; and night to night proclaimeth knowledge.
BrentonThe Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.
GreekἘπακούσαι σου Κύριος ἐν ἡμέρᾳ θλίψεως, ὑπερασπίσαι σου τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Θεοῦ Ἰακώβ.

ThomsonAre they not speeches and are they not words, of which is not their utterance heard?
BrentonSend thee help from the sanctuary, and aid thee out of Sion.
GreekἘξαποστείλαι σοι βοήθειαν ἐξ ἁγίου, καὶ ἐκ Σιὼν ἀντιλάβοιτό σου.

ThomsonTo every land their sound is gone forth: and their doctrines to the limits of the world. In the sun He placed His tabernacle.
BrentonRemember all thy sacrifice, and enrich thy whole-burnt-offering. Pause.
GreekΜνησθείη πάσης θυσίας σου, καὶ τὸ ὁλοκαύτωμά σου πιανάτω· διάψαλμα.

ThomsonAnd he is like a bridegroom coming forth from his chamber. He will rejoice as a giant to run his course.
BrentonGrant thee according to thy heart, and fulfil all thy desire.
GreekΔῴη σοι κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν σου, καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν βουλήν σου πληρώσαι.

ThomsonHis going forth is from the summit of heaven; and his course is to the summit thereof, and from his heat none can be hid.
BrentonWe will exult in thy salvation, and in the name of our God shall we be magnified: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
GreekἈγαλλιασόμεθα ἐν τῷ σωτηρίῳ σου, καὶ ἐν ὀνόματι Θεοῦ ἡμῶν μεγαλυνθησόμεθα· πληρώσαι Κύριος πάντα τὰ αἰτήματά σου.

ThomsonThe law of the Lord is perfect, it restoreth souls: The testimony of the Lord is faithful, it maketh infants wise.
BrentonNow I know that the Lord has saved his Christ: he shall hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is mighty.
GreekΝῦν ἔγνων ὅτι ἔσωσε Κύριος τὸν χριστὸν αὐτοῦ· ἐπακούσεται αὐτοῦ ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἁγίου αὐτοῦ, ἐν δυναστείαις ἡ σωτηρία τῆς δεξιᾶς αὐτοῦ.

ThomsonThe statutes of the Lord are right, they rejoice the heart. The commandment of the Lord is clear, it enlighteneth the eyes.
BrentonSome glory in chariots, and some in horses: but we will glory in the name of the Lord our God.
GreekΟὗτοι ἐν ἅρμασι καὶ οὗτοι ἐν ἵπποις, ἡμεῖς δὲ ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου Θεοῦ ἡμῶν μεγαλυνθησόμεθα.

ThomsonThe fear of the Lord is pure, it endureth forever. The judgments of the Lord are true, they are justified for being so.
BrentonThey are overthrown and fallen: but we are risen, and have been set upright.
GreekΑὐτοὶ συνεποδίσθησαν καὶ ἔπεσαν, ἡμεῖς δὲ ἀνέστημεν καὶ ἀνωρθώθημεν.

ThomsonThey are more to be desired than gold, or many precious stones; and sweeter than honey or the honeycomb.
BrentonO Lord, save the king: and hear us in whatever day we call upon thee.
GreekΚύριε σῶσον τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἐπάκουσον ἡμῶν, ἐν ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ ἐπικαλεσώμεθά σε.
