ThomsonWHEN I made my supplication, my righteous God heard me: Thou hast enlarged me in distress: be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

ThomsonSons of men! how long will you be stubborn! why love ye vanity and seek falsehood?
BrentonWhen I called upon him, the God of my righteousness heard me: thou hast made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and hearken to my prayer.
GreekἘν τῷ ἐπικαλεῖσθαί με, εἰσήκουσέ μου ὁ Θεὸς τῆς δικαιοσύνης μου· ἐν θλίψει ἐπλάτυνάς μοι· οἰκτείρησόν με, καὶ εἰσάκουσον τῆς προσευχῆς μου.

ThomsonKnow that the Lord hath made His holy one wonderful. The Lord will hearken to me when I cry to Him.
BrentonO ye sons of men, how long will ye be slow of heart? wherefore do ye love vanity, and seek falsehood? Pause.
GreekΥἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων, ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι; ἱνατί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα, καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος; διάψαλμα.

ThomsonAre you provoked to wrath? Do not therefore commit sin. What you say in your hearts be sorry for, on your beds.
BrentonBut know ye that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.
GreekΚαὶ γνῶτε ὅτι ἐθαυμάστωσε Κύριος τὸν ὅσιον αὐτοῦ, Κύριος εἰσακούσεταί μου ἐν τῷ κεκραγέναι με πρὸς αὐτόν.

ThomsonOffer a sacrifice of righteousness and trust in the Lord.
BrentonBe ye angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what ye say in your hearts. Pause.
GreekὈργίζεσθε καὶ μὴ ἁμαρτάνετε· ἃ λέγετε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν, ἐπὶ ταῖς κοίταις ὑμῶν κατανύγητε· διάψαλμα.

ThomsonMany say, Who will shew us good things? On us, Lord, is marked the light of Thy countenance:

GreekΘύσατε θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης, καὶ ἐλπίσατε ἐπὶ Κύριον.

ThomsonThou hast put gladness in my heart. Because of the increase of their corn and wine and oil they are filled;
BrentonMany say, Who will shew us good things? the light of thy countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
GreekΠολλοὶ λέγουσι, τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά; ἐσημειώθη ἐφʼ ἡμᾶς τὸ φῶς τοῦ προσώπου σου, Κύριε.

Thomsonwhile I will lay me down in peace and sleep because Thou, O Lord, hast only caused me to dwell in hope.
BrentonThou hast put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
GreekἜδωκας εὐφροσύνην εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου· ἀπὸ καρποῦ σίτου καὶ οἴνου καὶ ἐλαίου αὐτῶν ἐπληθύνθησαν.
