ThomsonO LORD, hear my words—attend to my cry.
BrentonFor the end, a Psalm of David, concerning her that inherits.
GreekΕἰς τὸ τέλος, ὑπὲρ τῆς κληρονομούσης, ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυίδ.

ThomsonListen to the sound of my prayer, my king and my God! For to Thee, O Lord, I will pray.
BrentonHearken to my words, O Lord, attend to my cry.
GreekΤὰ ῥήματά μου ἐνώτισαι Κύριε, σύνες τῆς κραυγῆς μου,

ThomsonIn the morning Thou shalt hear my voice: in the morning I will wait on Thee and look up.
BrentonAttend to the voice of my supplication, my King, and my God: for to thee, O Lord, will I pray.
Greekπρόσχες τῇ φωνῇ τῆς δεήσεώς μου, ὁ βασιλεύς μου καὶ ὁ Θεός μου· ὅτι πρὸς σὲ προσεύξομαι Κύριε,

ThomsonBecause Thou art not a God pleased with iniquity; therefore he who is wicked cannot dwell near Thee:
BrentonIn the morning thou shalt hear my voice: in the morning will I wait upon thee, and will look up.
Greekτοπρωῒ εἰσακούσῃ τῆς φωνῆς μου· τοπρωῒ παραστήσομαί σοι, καὶ ἐπόψομαι.

Thomsonnor shall transgressors continue in Thy presence. Thou O Lord, hatest all the workers of iniquity:
BrentonFor thou art not a God that desires iniquity; neither shall the worker of wickedness dwell with thee.
GreekὍτι οὐχὶ Θεὸς θέλων ἀνομίαν σὺ εἶ· οὐδὲ παροικησει σοι πονηρευόμενος,

Thomsonthou wilt destroy all them who speak lies—a bloody and deceitful man the Lord abhorreth.
BrentonNeither shall the transgressors continue in thy sight: thou hatest, O Lord, all them that work iniquity.
Greekοὐδὲ διαμενοῦσι παράνομοι κατέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν σου· ἐμίσησας Κύριε πάντας τοὺς ἐργαζομένους τὴν ἀνομίαν,

ThomsonAs for me, I through Thine abundant mercy, will go to Thy house: I will worship before Thy holy temple, in Thy fear.
BrentonThou wilt destroy all that speak falsehood: the Lord abhors the bloody and deceitful man.
Greekἀπολεῖς πάντας τοὺς λαλοῦντας τὸ ψεῦδος· ἄνδρα αἱμάτων καὶ δόλιον βδελύσσεται Κύριος.

ThomsonLead me, O Lord, in Thy saving goodness: direct my way before Thee, because of mine enemies—
BrentonBut I will enter into thine house in the multitude of thy mercy: I will worship in thy fear toward thy holy temple.
GreekἘγὼ δὲ ἐν τῷ πλήθει τοῦ ἐλέου σου εἰσελεύσομαι εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου, προσκυνήσω πρὸς ναὸν ἅγιόν σου ἐν φόβῳ σου.

Thomsonbecause there is no truth in their mouth. Their heart is false; their throat, an open sepulchre: with their tongue they practised deceit.
BrentonLead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make my way plain before thy face.
GreekΚύριε ὁδήγησόν με ἐν τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ σου ἕνεκα τῶν ἐχθρῶν μου, κατεύθυνον ἐνώπιόν σου τὴν ὁδόν μου.

ThomsonJudge them, O God; let them fall for their devices: according to the multitude of their crimes cast them out; because they have provoked Thee, O Lord.
BrentonFor there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain; their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit.
GreekὍτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν ἀλήθεια· ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ματαία· τάφος ἀνεῳγμένος ὁ λάρυγξ αὐτῶν· ταῖς γλώσσαις αὐτῶν ἐδολιοῦσαν.

ThomsonBut let all, whose hope is in Thee, rejoice. They shall exult forever, and Thou wilt dwell among them: and all who love Thy name will glory in Thee;
BrentonJudge them, O God; let them fail of their counsels: cast them out according to the abundance of their ungodliness; for they have provoked thee, O Lord.
GreekΚρίνον αὐτοὺς ὁ Θεός· ἀποπεσάτωσαν ἀπὸ τῶν διαβουλιῶν αὐτῶν· κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν ἀσεβειῶν αὐτῶν ἔξωσον αὐτοὺς, ὅτι παρεπίκρανάν σε Κύριε.

Thomsonbecause Thou wilt bless the righteous. Thou, O Lord, hast covered us as with armour of favour.
BrentonBut let all that trust on thee be glad in thee: they shall exult for ever, and thou shalt dwell among them; and all that love thy name shall rejoice in thee.
GreekΚαὶ εὐφρανθήτωσαν ἐπὶ σοὶ πάντες οἱ ἐλπίζοντες ἐπὶ σὲ, εἰς αἰῶνα ἀγαλλιάσονται, καὶ κατασκηνώσεις ἐν αὐτοῖς· καὶ καυχήσονται ἐπὶ σοὶ πάντες οἱ ἀγαπῶντες τὸ ὄνομά σου,

BrentonFor thou, Lord, shalt bless the righteous: thou hast compassed us as with a shield of favour.
Greekὅτι σὺ εὐλογήσεις δίκαιον Κύριε, ὡς ὅπλῳ εὐδοκίας ἐστεφάνωσας ἡμᾶς.
