ThomsonO GOD, Thou didst cast us off and destroy us; Thou wast angry, but hast had compassion on us.

ThomsonThou hast shaken the land and troubled it. Heal the breaches of it; for it hath been shaken.
BrentonO God, hearken to my petition; attend to my prayer.
GreekΕἰσάκουσον ὁ Θεὸς τῆς δεήσεώς μου, πρόσχες τῇ προσευχῇ μου.

ThomsonThou hast shewn Thy people hard things; Thou hast made us drink the wine of astonishment.
BrentonFrom the ends of the earth have I cried to thee, when my heart was in trouble: thou liftedst me up on a rock, thou didst guide me:

Thomsonthat Thy beloved may be delivered, save with Thy right hand and hearken to me.
BrentonI will dwell in thy tabernacle for ever; I will shelter myself under the shadow of thy wings. Pause.
GreekΠαροικήσω ἐν τῷ σκηνώματί σου εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας, σκεπασθήσομαι ἐν σκέπῃ τῶν πτερύγων σου· διάψαλμα.

ThomsonGod hath spoken in His sanctuary. I shall rejoice and divide Sikima, and mete out the valley of tents.
BrentonFor thou, O God, hast heard my prayers; thou hast given an inheritance to them that fear thy name.

ThomsonMoab is the cauldron of my hope. Over Idumea I will extend my march: to me the Philistines are subjected.

ThomsonWho will lead me to the fortified city: who will guide me to Idumea?
BrentonSo will I sing to thy name for ever and ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
