ThomsonO COME, let us sing with joy to the Lord; let us shout triumphantly to God our Saviour:
BrentonWhen the house was built after the Captivity, a Song by David. Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.
GreekὍτε ὁ οἶκος ᾠκοδόμηται μετὰ τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν, ᾠδὴ τῷ Δαυίδ. Ἄσατε τῷ Κυρίῳ ἆσμα καινὸν, ᾄσατε τῷ Κυρίῳ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ.

Thomsonlet us approach His presence with a song of praise, and shout with joy to Him in psalms,
BrentonSing to the Lord, bless his name: proclaim his salvation from day to day.
GreekἌσατε τῷ Κυρίῳ, εὐλογήσατε τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, εὐαγγελίζεσθε ἡμέραν ἐξ ἡμέρας τὸ σωτήριον αὐτοῦ.

Thomsonthat the Lord is a great God and a great king over all the Gods;
BrentonPublish his glory among the Gentiles, his wonderful works among all people.
GreekἈναγγείλατε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦ, ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς λαοῖς τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτοῦ.

Thomsonand that the Lord will not cast off His people: that in His hand are the limits of the earth—and the lofty mountains are His:
BrentonFor the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is terrible above all gods.
GreekὍτι μέγας Κύριος καὶ αἰνετὸς σφόδρα, φοβερός ἐστιν ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς θεούς.

Thomsonthat the sea is His—He made it; and His hands formed the dry land.
BrentonFor all the gods of the heathen are devils: but the Lord made the heavens.
GreekὍτι πάντες οἱ θεοὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν δαιμόνια, ὁ δὲ Κύριος τοὺς οὐρανοὺς ἐποίησεν.

ThomsonO come, let us worship and bow down before Him, and let us weep before the Lord, our maker.
BrentonThanksgiving and beauty are before him: holiness and majesty are in his sanctuary.
GreekἘξομολόγησις καὶ ὡραιότης ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ, ἁγιωσύνη καὶ μεγαλοπρέπεια ἐν τῷ ἁγιάσματι αὐτοῦ.

ThomsonBecause He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the flock of His hand;
BrentonBring to the Lord, ye families of the Gentiles, bring to the Lord glory and honour.
GreekἘνέγκατε τῷ Κυρίῳ αἱ πατριαὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν, ἐνέγκατε τῷ Κυρίῳ δόξαν καὶ τιμὴν,

ThomsonTo-day, since you have heard His voice, let not your hearts be refractory as at the great provocation—as in the day of the temptation in the desert.
BrentonBring to the Lord the glory becoming his name: take offerings, and go into his courts.
Greekἐνέγκατε τῷ Κυρίῳ δόξαν ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ, ἄρατε θυσίας καὶ εἰσπορεύεσθε εἰς τὰς αὐλὰς αὐτοῦ·

ThomsonWhere your father’s tried Me—they proved Me, though they had seen My works.
BrentonWorship the Lord in his holy court: let all the earth tremble before him.
GreekΠροσκυνήσατε τῷ Κυρίῳ ἐν αὐλῇ ἁγίᾳ αὐτοῦ, σαλευθήτω ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ.

ThomsonForty years. I was incensed with that generation, and said, They do always err with the heart—and have not known My ways;
BrentonSay among the heathen, The Lord reigns: for he has established the world so that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people in righteousness.
GreekΕἴπατε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, ὁ Κύριος ἐβασίλευσε· καὶ γὰρ κατώρθωσε τὴν σἰκουμένην, ἥτις οὐ σαλευθήσεται, κρινεῖ λαοῦς ἐν εὐθύτητι.

Thomsonso in Mine indignation, I solemnly said, They shall not enter into My rest.
BrentonLet the heavens rejoice, and the earth exult; let the sea be moved, and the fulness of it.
GreekΕὐφραινέσθωσαν οἱ οὐρανοὶ καὶ ἀγαλλιάσθω ἡ γῆ, σαλευθήτω ἡ θάλασσα καὶ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῆς.

BrentonThe plains shall rejoice, and all things in them: then shall all the trees of the wood exult before the presence of the Lord:
GreekΧαρήσεται τὰ πεδία, καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς· τότε ἀγαλλιάσονται πάντα τὰ ξύλα τοῦ δρυμοῦ

Brentonfor he comes, for he comes to judge the earth; he shall judge the world in righteousness, and the people with his truth.
Greekπρὸ προσώπου τοῦ Κυρίου, ὅτι ἔρχεται, ὅτι ἔρχεται κρῖναι τὴν γῆν· κρινεῖ τὴν οἰκουμένην ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ, καὶ λαοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ αὐτοῦ.
