ThomsonNOW these are the things which thou shalt do for them. Thou shalt consecrate them that they may minister to Me in the priest’s office. For this purpose thou shalt take one young bull of the herd and two rams without blemish

ThomsonThese thou shalt make of fine wheaten flour and put them in one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the young bull and the two rams.

Thomsonand gird them with girdles and put the tiaras on them. And the office of serving Me as priests shall be theirs forever. Then thou shalt consecrate the hands of Aaron, and the hands of his sons—

Thomsonfor this purpose thou shalt bring the young bull to the doors of the tabernacle of the testimony and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the young bull before the Lord at the doors of the tabernacle of the testimony.
BrentonAnd thou shalt bring the calf to the door of the tabernacle of witness; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the calf, before the Lord, by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

Thomsonand thou shalt take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger; and all the rest of the blood thou shalt pour out at the base of the altar.
BrentonAnd thou shalt take of the blood of the calf, and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger, but all the rest of the blood thou shalt pour out at the foot of the altar.

ThomsonAnd thou shalt take the whole caul which covereth the belly and the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with the suet on them; and lay them on the altar:

Thomsonbut the flesh of the bull and the hide and the excrements thou shalt burn with fire without the camp: for it is a sin offering.
BrentonBut the flesh of the calf, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp; for it is an offering on account of sin.

ThomsonThen thou shalt cut the ram in pieces according to its members and thou shalt wash the entrails and the feet with water and lay them on the pieces with the head,
BrentonAnd thou shalt divide the ram by his several limbs, and thou shalt wash the inward parts and the feet with water, and thou shalt put them on the divided parts with the head.

Thomsonand thou shalt carry up this whole ram on the altar for a whole burnt offering to the Lord, for a sweet savour. It is a burnt offering to the Lord.
BrentonAnd thou shalt offer the whole ram on the altar, a whole burnt-offering to the Lord for a sweet-smelling savour: it is an offering of incense to the Lord.

Thomsonand thou shalt kill it; and thou shalt take some of its blood and put it upon the tip of Aaron’s right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot; and on the tip of the right ears of his sons, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the great toes of their right feet:

Thomsonand thou shalt take some of the blood from the altar, and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it upon Aaron and his raiment, and upon his sons and their raiment. So shall he and his raiment be hallowed; and his sons and their raiment with him.
BrentonAnd thou shalt take of the blood from the altar, and of the anointing oil; and thou shalt sprinkle it upon Aaron and on his garments, and on his sons and on his sons' garments with him; and he shall be sanctified and his apparel, and his sons and his sons' apparel with him: but the blood of the ram thou shalt pour round about upon the altar.

ThomsonBut the blood of this ram thou shalt pour against the altar round about. And thou shalt take from this ram the fat tail, and the caul which covereth the belly, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the suet on them, and the right shoulder (for this is a consecration offering)
BrentonAnd thou shalt take from the ram its fat, both the fat that covers the belly, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder, for this is a consecration.

Thomsonand one loaf of oil bread, and one cake out of the basket of unleavened cakes which were laid before the Lord;
BrentonAnd one cake made with oil, and one cake from the basket of unleavened bread set forth before the Lord.

Thomsonand thou shalt lay all these upon the hands of Aaron, and upon the hands of his sons, and set them apart as a dedication before the Lord.
BrentonAnd thou shalt put them all on the hands of Aaron, and on the hands of his sons, and thou shalt separate them as a separate offering before the Lord.
GreekΚαὶ ἐπιθήσεις τὰ πάντα ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖρας Ἀαρὼν, καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖρας τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἀφοριεῖς αὐτὰ ἀφόρισμα ἔναντι Κυρίου.

ThomsonThen thou shalt take them out of their hands and carry them up, upon the altar of burnt offerings for a smell of fragrance before the Lord. It is an homage offering to the Lord.
BrentonAnd thou shalt take them from their hands, and shalt offer them up on the altar of whole burnt-offering for a sweet-smelling savour before the Lord: it is an offering to the Lord.

ThomsonAnd thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s consecration and set it apart as a dedication before the Lord, and thou shalt have it for a portion.
BrentonAnd thou shalt take the breast from the ram of consecration which is Aaron's, and thou shalt separate it as a separate offering before the Lord, and it shall be to thee for a portion.
GreekΚαὶ λήψῃ τὸ στηθύνιον ἀπὸ τοῦ κριοῦ τῆς τελειώσεως, ὅ ἐστιν Ἀαρών· καὶ ἀφοριεῖς αὐτὸ ἀφόρισμα ἔναντι Κυρίου· καὶ ἔσται σοι ἐν μερίδι.

ThomsonAnd thou shalt hallow this breast dedication and the shoulder dedication which was set apart and taken from the ram of consecration on account of Aaron and his sons;
BrentonAnd thou shalt sanctify the separated breast and the shoulder of removal which has been separated, and which has been removed from the ram of consecration, of the portion of Aaron and of that of his sons.

Thomsonand they shall belong to Aaron and his sons by an everlasting statute from the Israelites. For this is a dedication and it shall be a portion taken from the Israelites, from the burnt offerings of thanksgiving of the children of Israel—a portion set apart for the Lord.
BrentonAnd it shall be a perpetual statute of the children of Israel to Aaron and his sons, for this is a separate offering; and it shall be a special offering from the children of Israel, from the peace-offerings of the children of Israel, a special offering to the Lord.
GreekΚαὶ ἔσται Ἀαρὼν καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ νόμιμον αἰώνιον παρὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ· ἔστι γὰρ ἀφόρισμα τοῦτο· καὶ ἀφαίρεμα ἕσται παρὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἀπὸ τῶν θυμάτων τῶν σωτηρίων τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ, ἀφαίρεμα Κυρίῳ.

ThomsonNow the sanctuary robes which are appropriate to Aaron shall be for his sons after him to be anointed in them and to consecrate their hands.
BrentonAnd the apparel of the sanctuary which is Aaron's shall be his sons' after him, for them to be anointed in them, and to fill their hands.
GreekΚαὶ ἡ στολὴ τοῦ ἁγίου, ἥ ἐστιν Ἀαρὼν, ἔσται τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ μετʼ αὐτὸν, χρισθῆναι αὐτοὺς ἐν αὐτοῖς, καὶ τελειῶσαι τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν.

ThomsonAnd thou shalt take the flesh of the ram of consecration and boil this flesh in a holy place;
BrentonAnd thou shalt take the ram of consecration, and thou shalt boil the flesh in the holy place.

Thomsonand Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of this ram and the bread which is in the basket. At the doors of the tabernacle of testimony
BrentonAnd Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the loaves in the basket, by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

Thomsonthey shall eat those meats, with which they were hallowed to consecrate their hands with them, to hallow themselves. None of another family shall eat of them, for they are holy.
BrentonThey shall eat the offerings with which they were sanctified to fill their hands, to sanctify them; and a stranger shall not eat of them, for they are holy.
GreekἜδονται αὐτὰ ἐν οἷς ἡγιάσθησαν ἐν αὐτοῖς τελειῶσαι τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν, ἁγιάσαι αὐτούς· καὶ ἀλλογενὴς οὐκ ἔδεται ἀπʼ αὐτῶν· ἔστι γὰρ ἅγια.

ThomsonAnd if any of the flesh of the consecration sacrifice or of the bread be left till the morning, thou shalt burn what remaineth with fire. It shall not be eaten; for it is a dedication.
BrentonAnd if aught be left of the flesh of the sacrifice of consecration and of the loaves until the morning, thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, for it is a holy thing.
GreekἘὰν δὲ καταλειφθῇ ἀπὸ τῶν κρεῶν τῆς θυσίας τῆς τελειώσεως καὶ τῶν ἄρτων ἕως πρωῒ, κατακαύσεις τὰ λοιπὰ πυρί· οὐ βρωθήσεται· ἁγίασμα γάρ ἐστι.

ThomsonHaving done thus for Aaron and his sons according to all that I have commanded thee, and consecrated their hands seven days,
BrentonAnd thus shalt thou do for Aaron and for his sons according to all things that I have commanded thee; seven days shalt thou fill their hands.

Thomsonthou shalt offer on the day of the purification a young bull for a sin offering, and thou shalt purify the altar, when thou consecratest upon it, and anoint it so as to hallow it.
BrentonAnd thou shalt sacrifice the calf of the sin-offering on the day of purification, and thou shalt purify the altar when thou dost perform consecration upon it, and thou shalt anoint it so as to sanctify it.
GreekΚαὶ τὸ μοσχάριον τῆς ἁμαρτίας ποιήσεις τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ· καὶ καθαριεῖς τὸ θυσιαστήριον ἐν τῷ ἁγιάζειν σε ἐπʼ αὐτῷ· καὶ χρίσεις αὐτὸ ὥστε ἁγιάσαι αὐτό.

ThomsonSeven days thou shalt purify the altar and hallow it, so shall the altar be most holy. Whoever toucheth it shall be hallowed.
BrentonSeven days shalt thou purify the altar and sanctify it; and the altar shall be most holy, every one that touches the altar shall be hallowed.
GreekἙπτὰ ἡμέρας καθαριεῖς τὸ θυσιαστήριον, καὶ ἁγιάσεις αὐτό· καὶ ἔσται τὸ θυσιαστήριον, ἅγιον τοῦ ἁγίου· πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου, ἁγιασθήσεται.

ThomsonNow these are what thou shalt offer on the altar—
BrentonAnd these are the offerings which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two unblemished lambs of a year old daily on the altar continually, a constant offering.

Thomsonthe one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning with a tenth of fine flour tempered with a quarter of a hin of expressed oil; and for a libation a quarter of a hin of wine for the first lamb:

Thomsonthou shalt offer this continual sacrifice throughout your generations, at the doors of the tabernacle of the testimony before the Lord in the places where I shall make Myself known to thee so as to speak to thee.

ThomsonAnd I will hallow the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar; and I will hallow Aaron and his sons to minister to Me in the priest’s office;
