ThomsonBLESSED be the Lord my God, Who teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
BrentonDavid's Psalm of praise. I will exalt thee, my God, my king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
GreekΑἴνεσις τοῦ Δαυίδ. Ὑψώσω σε, ὁ Θεός μου ὁ βασιλεύς μου, καὶ εὐλογήσω τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος.

ThomsonHe is my mercy and my refuge—my support and my deliverer, my protector in whom I trusted, Who subdueth the people under me.
BrentonEvery day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
GreekΚαθʼ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν εὐλογήσω σε, καὶ αἰνέσω τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος.

ThomsonO Lord, what is man that Thou shouldst acknowledge him, or a son of man that Thou shouldst regard him!
BrentonThe Lord is great, and greatly to be praised; and there is no end of his greatness.
GreekΜέγας ὁ Κύριος καὶ αἰνετὸς σφόδρα, καὶ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἔστι πέρας.

ThomsonMan is like vanity, his days glide away like a shadow.
BrentonGeneration after generation shall praise thy works, and tell of thy power.

ThomsonO Lord, bow Thy heaven and come down: touch the mountains and let them smoke.
BrentonAnd they shall speak of the glorious majesty of thy holiness, and recount thy wonders.
GreekΚαὶ τὴν μεγαλοπρέπειαν τῆς δόξης τῆς ἁγιωσύνης σου λαλήσουσι, καὶ τὰ θαυμάσιά σου διηγήσονται.

ThomsonFlash lightnings and Thou wilt scatter them; dart Thy bolts and Thou wilt discomfit them;
BrentonAnd they shall speak of the power of thy terrible acts; and recount thy greatness.

Thomsonstretch forth Thy hand from on high; rescue me and deliver me from many waters—out of the hand of the children of strangers,
BrentonThey shall utter the memory of the abundance of thy goodness, and shall exult in thy righteousness.

Thomsonwhose mouth hath uttered falsehood, and whose right hand is a right hand of deceit.

Thomsonto Him Who giveth salvation to kings, Who hath redeemed His servant David from the hurtful sword.
BrentonLet all thy works, O Lord, give thanks to thee; and let thy saints bless thee.

ThomsonRescue me and deliver me out of the hand of the children of strangers, whose mouth hath uttered falsehood, and whose right hand is a right hand of deceit—
BrentonThey shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy dominion;

Thomsonwhose sons are like trees well planted when young; their daughters beauteous, adorned like shrines;
Brentonto make known to the sons of men thy power, and the glorious majesty of thy kingdom.

Thomsontheir storehouses full and overflowing;
BrentonThy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endures through all generations.

Thomsontheir flocks prolific, abounding in their outwalks; their herds fat. There is no destruction of enclosures—no breaking out—no screaming in their folds.
BrentonThe Lord supports all that are falling, and sets up all that are broken down.
GreekὙποστηρίζει Κύριος πάντας τοὺς καταπίπτοντας, καὶ ἀνορθοῖ πάντας τοὺς κατεῤῥαγμένους.

ThomsonThe people who had such things were hailed happy; but happy is the people, whose God is the Lord.
BrentonThe eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their food in due season.

BrentonThe Lord is near to all that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

BrentonHe will perform the desire of them that fear him: and he will hear their supplication, and save them.
