ThomsonI WILL extol Thee, O my God, my king: and bless Thy name forever and ever.
BrentonAlleluia, a Psalm of Aggæus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord.
GreekἈλληλούϊα· Ἀγγαίου καὶ Ζαχαρίου. Αἰνεῖ ἡ ψυχή μου τὸν Κύριον.

ThomsonDay by day I will bless Thee, and praise Thy name forever and ever.
BrentonWhile I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
GreekΑἰνέσω Κύριον ἐν ζωῇ μοῦ, ψαλῶ τῷ Θεῷ μου ἕως ὑπάρχω.

ThomsonThe Lord is great and greatly to be praised; and of His greatness there is no end.
BrentonTrust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.
GreekΜὴ πεποίθατε ἐπʼ ἄρχοντας, καὶ ἐφʼ υἱοὺς ἀνθρώπων, οἷς οὐκ ἔστι σωτηρία.

ThomsonLet generation after generation praise Thy works, and proclaim Thy mighty power:
BrentonHis breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.
GreekἘξελεύσεται τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπιστρέψει εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ, ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἀπολοῦνται πάντες οἱ διαλογισμοὶ αὐτῶν.

ThomsonLet them speak of the transcendant glory of Thy majesty, and relate Thy wonderous works.
BrentonBlessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:
GreekΜακάριος οὗ ὁ Θεὸς Ἰακὼβ βοηθός αὐτοῦ, ἡ ἐλπὶς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν αὐτοῦ·

ThomsonLet them express the might of Thine awful dealings, and rehearse Thy greatness.
Brentonwho made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever:
GreekΤὸν ποιήσαντα τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν, τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς· τὸν φυλάσσοντα ἀλήθειαν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα,

ThomsonLet them make mention of Thine abundant goodness, and exult with joy in Thy saving mercy.
Brentonwho executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones:
Greekποιοῦντα κρίμα τοῖς ἀδικουμένοις, διδόντα τροφὴν τοῖς πεινῶσι. Κύριος λύει πεπεδημένους,

ThomsonThe Lord is gracious and merciful: long suffering and abundant in kindness.
Brentonthe Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;
GreekΚύριος σοφοῖ τυφλοὺς, Κύριος ἀνορθοῖ κατεῤῥαγμένους, Κύριος ἀγαπᾷ δικαίους,

ThomsonThe Lord is kind to them who wait, and His mercies are over all His works.
Brentonhe will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.
GreekΚύριος φυλάσσει τοὺς προσηλύτους· ὀρφανὸν καὶ χήραν ἀναλήμψεται, καὶ ὁδὸν ἁμαρτωλῶν ἀφανιεῖ.

ThomsonLet all Thy works, O Lord, praise Thee, and let Thy saints bless Thee;
BrentonThe Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Sion, to all generations.
GreekΒασιλεύσει Κύριος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ὁ Θεός σου, Σιὼν, εἰς γενεὰν καὶ γενεάν.
